The restoration of this old manor house in this remote and beautiful corner of Brittany has been a real labour of love for the owner. Such was the dilapidated state of this property when it was bought by his grandfather 50 years ago that it was sold to him for the price of the stone alone. Three generations have worked on the restoration of the house, which dates back to the 13th century, none more so than the current owner, who lives in an independent studio in the manoir. He has created four properties of high quality with modern facilities and the renovation shows great attention to detail including, as the owner is proud to tell, many of the doors and wooden surfaces made from wood felled on his own land. Each property has a private garden as well as shared use of a delightful walled garden with a small chapel in the corner, the cobbled courtyard complete with well (now ornamental only) and the wooded grounds. The properties can be rented individually or by taking one or more, even all four together. In the middle of the courtyard buildings, the Grand Gîte has a west-facing garden which enjoys the afternoon sun, with high hedging offering a good deal of privacy. Inside, the downstairs area has a spacious open-plan design with exposed stone walls and wooden beams throughout, comfortable sofa and chairs by the wood burning stove in the large stone fireplace and a dining table for eight, with a well-laid out fitted kitchen at the opposite end to the fireplace. The property has its own garden with terrace and barbecue.

Accommodation: Ground floor: open-plan living/dining room and kitchen area, shower room, wc. First floor: 1 twin-bedded room with cot, 1 double and 1 triple-bedded room, bathroom with wc.

Activities: Nearest beach 2km, indoor swimming pool at Esquibien (1km), bike hire in Pont-Croix (5km), horse riding at Plogoff (5km).
