Formerly the Moulin de Cambelong, this ex 18th-century mill is in the most glorious position, set beside a weir on the fast-flowing River Dourdou and half a mile from the nearby village. The public areas of the hotel are beautifully furnished and decorated in an elegant, formal style whereas the rooms are more modern in design.

ROOMS
An intimate hotel of only ten rooms, all slightly different in size, shape and décor but all delightfully arranged in a modern style with a contemporary layout and open-plan bathroom. Rooms are situated over two floors (no lift). VFB’s rooms overlook the river while others are lower priced and have a mill view (on request).

RESTAURANT
The beamed dining room is formal yet intimate, with the most impressive service. The cuisine, recognised by a Michelin star, is imaginative with new variations on traditional, regional fare and with an international flavour. A daily-changing menu without choice is included. Extensive wine list lacking only a simple cuvée maison.

The stunning mediaeval village of Conques, one of France’s major sites of pilgrimage, with its Romanesque church. Figeac with its vieille ville. Rodez, the former capital of Rouergue, with its red sandstone cathedral, and the picturesque and rugged Gorges du Lot, dotted with enchanting villages.
