Kerio is a 1-bedroomed cottage, sleeping 2 (+ baby), in a rural setting, 2.5km from the village of Berric (Morbihan), 18km E of Vannes, 13km N of Muzillac, 10km SW of Questembert (Michelin map: 512). VFB is delighted to have featured this property since 1983. Saturday arrival.

This delightful little property is a tiny detached and completely independent house located in some two acres of private woodland, which visitors are free to enjoy, some 20m from the owner’s large house. A few birds – geese, parakeets and quail – are kept by the owner outside and can be heard from the property. There is further woodland beyond the confines of the property but, despite the number of trees, the house is still quite well exposed to the sun. The accommodation itself is all on the first floor, the ground floor being a garage, and it is reached by means of an outside stone staircase leading up to the front door, which is a converted dormer window with rather low headroom (about 5’4”)! Consisting of two rooms and a shower room, the property is quite simply but comfortably furnished with sloping pine-panelled ceilings and walls creating a cosy feel. Although not isolated (a few houses are visible through the pine trees and the nearest neighbours are 200m away), the setting is very rural and peaceful. Accommodation of a good standard with friendly owner and dogs, and within easy reach of the Golfe du Morbihan.

Accommodation: All on first floor: kitchen/living room, 1 double-bedded room, shower room with wc.

Activities: Sea at 15km. Tennis at Berric. Horse riding at Sulniac. Swimming pool, bicycle hire and indoor tennis at Questembert (10km). Sailboard hire at Damgan (15km). Golf at Baden (18 holes), at Caden (18 holes) and at presqu’ile de Rhuys (18 holes). Plan d’eau for fishing in Berric (2 km).

Services: Grocer, baker, doctor at Berric. All other shops and services in Questembert. Market on Monday mornings at Questembert, Fridays at Muzillac and Wednesdays and Saturdays in Vannes.
