Les Deux Tilleuls is a 2-bedroomed cottage, sleeping 5 (+ baby), in peaceful countryside, 1.5km N of Molières (Dordogne), 6km W of Cadouin, 12km SW of le Buisson (Michelin map: 525). VFB is delighted to have featured this property since 1987. Saturday arrival.

A very charming, detached stone cottage whose setting, at the foot of two magnificent old lime trees in open grassy areas, is both attractive, tranquil and ideal for sunbathing or al fresco meals. The property, with delightful far-reaching outlooks to all sides over gently undulating fields and woodland, was converted from an old farm building in 1986 by the friendly owners. They live some 60m away at the farm itself. Much of the original structure has been incorporated into the décor, and traditional character has been retained in exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings. Furnishings are more modern in style and the whole interior has a very cosy, inviting feel, complemented by pretty fabrics and homely touches. Attractively arranged, well-equipped and beautifully kept, this is a homely base in a lovely setting. The stone walls have in most places been left exposed, and one of the bedrooms, reached via an open wooden staircase, has been located between the impressive beams of the steeply pitched roof. A very appealing little property in a pleasant and peaceful location, with one of the most outstanding stretches of the Dordogne river close at hand.

Tiled floor with rug. Open-tread stairs to first floor and to lower ground floor. (Beware: stairs open directly from kitchen down to lower ground.)
 
Lower-ground floor: no rail at top of stairs, rope handrail from half-way down. Small inner hall with cupboard with doors to:
 
·     Bedroom 1 (4m x 4m) with 1 double bed (1m40). Tiled floor. French window to outside, (1 step up)
·     Bathroom with bath and shower attachment. Tiled floor. French window to outside, (1 step up)
·     Separate wc
 
First floor: (open-tread stairs and lowish beam at bottom of stairs; low beams throughout bedroom)
 
·     Bedroom 2 (7m50 x 5m) – no door – with 3 single beds (0m90), pitched timber and beam ceiling. Wooden floor
 
Gas for cooking and water heating included – Electricity included (2 electric radiators) – Bed linen included, household linen available – Baby-sitting not available.
 
Where household linen is available, payment should be made direct to the owner (one set will cost 20€ for two people and each additional person staying at the property pays 5€).
 
Breakage Deposit: 100€   Sleeps: 5 + baby MAXIMUM (cot not provided)
 
There is a local tax (taxe de séjour) applicable at this property for all guests. The cost is 0.50€ per guest (over 13) per day, and should be paid directly to the owner.
